I am 49 years old now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I don&#8217;t do New Year&#8217;s resolutions, because Jan 1 means nothing to me. What does mean something is my birthday, as I try to improve on the last year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I have things I want to do, and the run up to 50 should be&#8230;something. Interesting? Tiring? They say God laughs at plans, but it doesn&#8217;t stop us from trying, does it?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I battle brain chemistry, inertia, history, and a lot more to move forward, or feel like I&#8217;m moving forward. I&#8217;ve cast off some people who&#8217;ve had access to me, people who clouded my outlook with a lot of negativity. That&#8217;s good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I move forward in time with hope, a hope not yet dashed by the state of the world or my place in it.
